Sometimes I pitch a story or an essay to Yankee, and sometimes the folks in Dublin come up with an assignment that I’d never dream up on my own. This one took me to East Harwich, to meet with Justin Labdon, founder of the Cape Cod Beach Chair Company. While I was there, I got to check out the sewing room, the wood shop, the retail store, and the giant embroidery machine, too. I have to say–waaaay cool. If you’re picturing low-slung, uncomfortable, and flimsy, think again! Here’s the piece. [photo snapped during my visit–love the colors!]
